RS Berkane made a significant addition to their attacking corps this week with the signing of former French youth national team attacker Mounir Chouiar from Bulgarian champions Ludogorets Razgrad.

The Orange Boys have reportedly completed the transfer in time before the summer transfer deadline ended for clubs in Morocco’s top flight Botola Pro, completing a productive transfer window that saw RSB boost their squad with a notable list of signings. The 26-year-old born in France is the latest, a talented and versatile attacker with explosive qualities and plenty of experience in mulitple European top divisions as well as UEFA club competitions.
Chouiar arrives from Ludogorets after failing to settle in Bulgaria. Since arriving at Ludogorets for a fee of over €1 million in September 2023, he made only 22 appearances in all competitions while spending time on loan at multiple clubs. The most recent loan spell saw Chouiar produce 6 goals and 6 assists in 44 appearances with FC Zürich in Switzerland.
But now, Chouiar figures to be an important piece of the RSB attack as they prepare for CAF Champions League duty alongside their campaign to defend a first-ever league crown achieved last season. A right-footed player who can operate in any midfield position or on either wing, Chouiar most prefers to operate on the left wing where he can cut inside to make an impact on his favored foot.
The new arrival joins a diverse group of players coming into the Berkane side. Former Tunisia national team central defender Oussama Haddadi was signed from Emirati football alongside experienced central midfielder Rayane Aabid, a French-Moroccan who arrives from the Turkish second tier. Promising forward Youness El Kaabi (brother of Ayoub) was also acquired as well as right back Et Tayeb Boukhriss from top flight rivals AS FAR Rabat.
RS Berkane begin their 2025-26 Botola Pro campaign on September 13 against newly-promoted Olympique Dcheira. They commence their CAF Champions League participation in the preliminary stages later in September against Togo’s ASC Kara, where a victory will likely pit RSB against Libyan champions Al Ahli Tripoli for a place in the group stage.
