Mamelodi Sundowns acquires Tsiki Ntsabeleng on loan from MLS club

Major League Soccer club FC Dallas confirmed on Friday that South African attacker Tsiki Ntsabeleng will join Betway Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns on loan through the end of the 2025-26 season.

The 27-year-old returns to his native country after seven years in the United States, where he played college soccer with Coastal Carolina University and Oregon State before spending three-and-a-half seasons in MLS.

A versatile player who prefers to operate in an attacking midfield role, Ntsabeleng is an intriguing signing who appears set to provide depth for Sundowns as they prepare to participate in multiple domestic and continental competitions.

Ntsabeleng previously played for the reserve team of Mamelodi Sundowns as well as Kaizer Chiefs during his time in South Africa before moving abroad. Drafted by FC Dallas in the MLS SuperDraft for college players as the 28th overall pick in 2022, the native of Daveyton in Gauteng Province produced 2 goals and 7 assists in 92 appearances during his time in MLS.

A creative #10 type of midfielder in college, Ntsabeleng was converted to a deeper “box-to-box” role by the FC Dallas coach at the time, Nico Estevez. Valued for his adaptability and energetic spark, it will be interesting to see if he will be able to break into a talented and deep Sundowns team that has struggled to find its form early in the 2025-26 campaign.
