Sadio Mane starts new Saudi Pro League season with an assist

Sadio Mane kicked off the 2025-26 Saudi Pro League campaign in style, helping Al Nassr claim a resounding 5-0 victory over Al Taawoun on Friday night.

While Portuguese star Joao Felix stole headlines with a debut hat-trick, Mane’s influence was clear throughout the game, after he provided an assist for Felix’s second goal in the 67th minute. The Senegalese forward picked up the ball inside the box, turned around, and set up his teammate, who fired a powerful finish into the net.

It was another reminder of Mane’s value to Al Nassr—not just as a goalscorer, but also as a creative spark capable of linking up with the team’s big names.

The rest of the evening saw Cristiano Ronaldo convert a penalty to reach an incredible 940 career goals, while Kingsley Coman opened his Saudi Pro League account in the 55th minute.

With Al Ahli and Al Hilal also securing wins in their openers, and Al Ittihad yet to play, Al Nassr’s dominant performance sends a strong message in the title race.

Mane and his teammates return to action on September 14 against Al Khaleej at Al Awwal Park, looking to build on this perfect start.
