Tusker promote forward Douglas Omanga ahead of new season

Kenyan Premier League side Tusker FC has promoted promising forward Douglas Omanga from the club’s youth setup to the senior team ahead of the new 2025-26 season.

According to the Brewers, the youngster, who has impressed with his technical ability and composure in midfield, has been cleared to join Charles Okere’s first-team squad ahead of the new campaign.

Omanga has been a standout performer in the Youth Team, catching the eye with his work rate, vision, and confidence on the ball. Last season, he was included in the senior team matchday squad twice.

“This is a very proud moment for me and my family. I have worked hard in the youth team and getting this opportunity motivates me to push even more. I want to learn from the experienced players and contribute to the success of the team. Ihave been really working hard towards this and looking forward to get this chance,” said Omanga on his promotion.

He added: “This is a huge morale booster not only to me but the entire Youth Team because they now see that whatever you do down there is being noticed and there is a pathway for youngsters into the senior team.”

Tusker coach Charles Okere said:“Douglas is a player we have had for a few seasons and he has shown great discipline and consistency. He has the right attitude, which is very important, and we believe he has what it takes to adapt to the demands of senior football. Our plan is to give him the right environment to grow and gradually integrate him into competitive matches.”

Omanga has joined David Polepole and George Odhiambo, who were earlier on promoted to the senior team.
