South Africa’s Magesi FC coach John Maduka has sent an important message to his players.
The Malawi-born trainer has made the call as his hunt for this Betway Premiership season’s first maximum points continues.
Dikwena Tsa Meetse, as Magesi are also known, head into the next league meeting with AmaZulu FC on Saturday reeling from midweek heartbreak.
Maduka’s men thought they had snatched yet another point against Lamontville Golden Arrows on Wednesday only to succumb to Mncedi Vandala’s injury-time clincher.
The loss saw Dikwena Tsa Meetse sliding down into 15th in the Betway Premiership standings.
Such a winless run should be giving Maduka sleepless nights. Little wonder, he has urged his players to strive for consistency whether at home or on the road.
“It’s very important that, like I said, when playing away from home to get points, so whenever we play at home, in front of our supporters, we have to make sure we get the points we need,” the coach said.
“We want to make sure that the good run continues with us winning games at home, so that also, when we go away we can also improve because, as much as we did well at home [last season], we did not do well away, so it’s important to balance.”
Magesi and AmaZulu, who drew 1-1 with Sekhukhune United on Wednesday, will face off at Seshego Stadium. Kick-off is at 3:00 pm CAT.
Usuthu lie in sixth position in the Betway Premiership standings, three points behind joint leaders, Sekhukhune and Kaizer Chiefs.
