Paris FC has agreed a deal to sign Mali international Hamari Traore. The Real Sociedad fullback has been a transfer target as he enters the final year of his contract with the Spanish side.
Traore, 33, was pursued by several French Ligue 1 clubs, and newly promoted Paris FC is now close to completing the move. According to Foot Mercato, Traore is expected to travel to the French capital over the weekend to finalize the deal.
Traore had also been targeted by OGC Nice as their new right-back, but the southern France club ended their pursuit after Jonathan Clauss’s move to Bayer Leverkusen failed to materialize. One of Paris FC’s shareholders, Red Bull, was initially hesitant about signing Traoré due to his age and the club’s need for a younger defender.
Hamari Traore is expected to bring much-needed experience to the Ligue 1 side. Before his move to Sociedad, he captained Stade Rennais.
