The Guadalajara-based club unveiled the 2019 Uganda Women’s Player of the Year on a season-long contract.
Nalukenge, widely regarded as one of Uganda’s most decorated female footballers, has enjoyed a successful career both locally and internationally.
She first rose to prominence at Kawempe Muslim Secondary School, where she collected numerous team and individual accolades that cemented her as one of the brightest prospects in women’s football.
Her breakthrough on the global stage came in 2019, when she won the coveted Player of the Year Award, before going on to claim back-to-back NXGN Awards in 2021 and 2022, recognising her among the best wonderkids in world football.
The striker arrives in Mexico after a stint in Europe, where she played for Cypriot giants Apollon Ladies before moving to Turkey, featuring for Kayseri Spor and 1027 Antalya Spor last season.
Nalukenge’s move to Atlas makes her only the second Ugandan to feature in Mexico’s top women’s division, following in the footsteps of compatriot Sandra Nabweteme, who currently turns out for Santos Laguna.
