On transfer deadline day, African players continue to make moves across the world headlined by Morocco forward Eliesse Ben Seghir’s big-money move to Bayer Leverkusen. Here at Pan-Africa Football, we have summarized the notable transfers from the past two days:
Zinedine Ferhat

The former Algerian international has returned to MC Alger after a decade-long stint, mostly at French clubs. Ferhat, 32, joined the reigning Algerian champions on a free transfer from French Ligue 1 side Angers. The midfielder previously played for Le Havre, Nîmes, and Alanyaspor. Ferhat signed a two-year deal with the Algiers side.
Mohamed Bayo
Guinea striker Mohamed Bayo joined Turkish side Gaziantep on loan from French Ligue 1 club LOSC Lille. The center forward is not in the plans for the northern France side, so a permanent or loan move was inevitable during the transfer window. Bayo was close to joining Saudi Pro League side Al Fayha, but he declined the move after Lille agreed loan terms. He is left out of the Guinea national team squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup African Qualifiers against Somalia and Algeria in September 2025.
Faris Moumbagna

Cameroonian striker Faris Moumbagna signed for Italian Serie A side Cremonese on loan from Olympique de Marseille. The French side brought in new strikers, and Moumbagna was deemed surplus. The 25-year-old striker was training with the reserve team during the preseason. He was nursing a long injury layoff, as he missed much of the 2024/25 season.
Badredine Bouanani

The Algerian winger made a switch to Bundesliga club Stuttgart. The German side paid €15 million to secure the services of Bouanani from OGC Nice. The Algerian international played two Ligue 1 games for Nice this season but was looking for the exit door due to inconsistent playing time.
Eliesse Ben Seghir
The Moroccan attacker signed for Bayer Leverkusen in a deal worth €35 million from French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco. Ben Seghir was a transfer target for clubs across Europe, as Monaco attempted unsuccessfully to keep him for another season. He is expected to be a direct replacement for countryman Amine Adli, who joined AFC Bournemouth.

Emmanuel Dennis
The Nigerian forward left Nottingham Forest and became a free agent. Dennis had an unsuccessful stint at the English side after joining them from Watford in 2022. He had loan spells at Istanbul Basaksehir, Watford, and Blackburn Rovers.
Terry Yegbe
The 24-year-old Ghanaian center back joined FC Metz from Swedish side Elfsborg in a deal worth €3 million. Yegbe stayed at Elfsborg for only one season. He impressed while in Sweden, and Metz hopes he can replicate the same performance in Ligue 1 this season. Yegbe made his senior Ghana debut in 2024.

Saad Agouzoul
Agouzoul transferred on loan from Auxerre to Omonia Nicosia. The 28-year-old defender saw his playing time at Auxerre cut short, so he was in search of more minutes elsewhere. The former Morocco U23 national team player played last season in Poland.
Grady Diangana
Diangana left West Bromwich Albion to sign for Spanish side Elche. The DR Congolese winger spent the last five seasons at the English side following his move from West Ham United. Although he grew up in England, the 27-year-old Lubumbashi native has represented DR Congo on eight occasions.
