Hearts of Oak coach Didi Dramani urges caution ahead of upcoming season

Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Mas Ud Didi Dramani has urged caution after the club defeated Great Olympics in the 2025 Democracy Cup on Friday.

The Phobians nailed their regional rivals by 1-0 courtesy of Kwesi Asmah’s strike at the Legon Sports Stadium to lift the second edition of the match.

Prior to beating Great Olympics, the 2000 CAF Champions League winners showed great class in the 2025 GHALCA Top Four where they defeated sworn rivals Kotoko to finish seven points league champions, Gold Stars.

The 2004 CAF Confederation Cup winners secured their first pre-season trophy by beating Heart of Lions 2-0 to lift the 2025 Gbese Mantse Homowo Cup.

Notwithstanding their sterling performance, coach Didi Dramani believes the club is still at the developmental stage.

“It’s still early days yet, we are ready to play [the new league campaign] but there is still a lot of work to improve on,” the coach told reporters.

“We are a developmental team, it’s [the team] a work in progress so there’s still some areas to still work on and then we become more formidable,” he added.

Hearts will now turn attention to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League opener against debutants Hohoe United on Friday, September 12 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
