Algeria’s all-time leading scorer, Islam Slimani, is preparing for the next chapter of his remarkable career after parting ways with CR Belouizdad.

According to French-Algerian journalist Nabil Djellit, writing in L’Équipe and on his official X account, “Super Slim” is expected to arrive in Romania on Monday to complete a move to CFR Cluj.

Slimani’s journey has taken him across some of football’s biggest stages. From his early days in Algeria to Sporting Lisbon in Portugal, he went on to play in England with Leicester City and Newcastle United, before spells in Turkey, France, Belgium, and Brazil. Now, at 37, he looks set to embrace a new challenge in the Romanian league.

Throughout his career, he has built an impressive resume, featuring for clubs such as Monaco, Olympique Lyon, and Anderlecht.

At international level, Islam Slimani remains Algeria’s record scorer with 47 goals in 102 appearances, cementing his place as one of the most iconic forwards in the history of Algerian football.
