Guirassy scores in fourth straight as Dortmund win at Heidenheim

Serhou Guirassy continued his flying start to the 2025-26 season on Saturday by opening the scoring in Borussia Dortmund’s 2-0 Bundesliga victory at Heidenheim.

The Guinean superstar’s header in the 33rd minute sent Dortmund on their way to a routine victory. Hosts Heidenheim were in trouble from early on after forward Budu Zivzivadze received a red card in the 21st minute to give Dortmund a numerical advantage.

Guirassy promptly took advantage of poor marking to get on the end of Julian Ryerson’s cross and deliver a powerful header that left goalkeeper Diant Ramaj with no chance. Karim Adeyemi then set up Maximilan Beier for Dortmund’s second just before halftime.

Guirassy continues hot form

Dortmund’s star striker has now scored in all four of the club’s competitive matches this season. He began the campaign by providing the match winner in a DFB Pokal clash before scoring a brace in Dortmund’s Bundesliga opener, a 3-0 result against Union Berlin. Saturday’s goal marked a successful return from the international window where he started both of Guinea’s matches, scoring in a 3-0 victory over Somalia and playing the full match from a 0-0 draw against Algeria.

What’s next for Guirassy and Dortmund?

The schedule will get busier for Dortmund and Guirassy. Their UEFA Champions League league phase opener at Juventus is on Tuesday and Guirassy will look to replicate his continental heroics after finishing tied for most goals last season with Barcelona’s Raphinha. Dortmund return to Bundesliga action next Sunday at home against Wolfsburg.
