Big loss: Al Ahly confirm injury to star Ahmed Sayed Zizo

Al Ahly have provided an update on the condition of midfielder Ahmed Sayed Zizo after he was forced off during Sunday’s 1-1 draw against ENPPI in the Nile Egyptian League.

The 29-year-old was substituted in the 26th minute after complaining of pain in his groin and upper thigh. Club doctor Ahmed Gaballah explained on Al Ahly’s official website:
“Zizo complained of discomfort in the upper thigh and adductor area, which required us to take him off as a precaution. He will undergo a medical examination tomorrow to assess his situation.”

Zizo has been one of Al Ahly’s key performers this season, featuring in four league matches before today’s game with two goals and two assists to his name. His early withdrawal is a major concern for head coach Emad El-Nahhas, as the team already struggles to find form.

Poor form for Al Ahly despite Zizo’s contributions:

The draw against ENPPI leaves Al Ahly with just six points from their opening five games, placing them 15th in the standings. ENPPI, on the other hand, climbed to seventh with nine points.

It is one of the club’s worst starts to a league campaign in recent memory, with only a single victory, three draws, and one defeat so far, in addition to a bye in one of the opening rounds.
