Paul Onuachu was left fuming after the Nigerian striker believed that his goal was erroneously ruled out by VAR as Trabzonspor lost 1-0 to rivals Fenerbahce in the Turkish Süper Lig on Sunday.
In the 11th minute of the match, Onuachu thought he had opened the scoring after rising above Milan Skriniar to head the ball into the net.
However, referee Ozan Ergün was advised by VAR to review the goal on the pitch-side monitor. After a lengthy review, the official disallowed the goal citing a foul committed by Onuachu on Skriniar in the build-up. The 31-year-old protested the decision and was shown a yellow card for dissent.
After the final whistle, while walking through the tunnel the Nigerian international said the league needs to do better.

“It’s a shame, the whole board will see this. It’s a big shame on the Turkish League. It’s a big shame, you have to do better.”
The defeat sees Trabzonspor, who have ten points, sitting in third place while Fenerbahce are level on points in second place due to a superior goal difference.
