Eric Kapaito ready to step in for Tusker FC after losing Ryan Ogam

Kenyan Premier League Tusker FC have gotten a saviuor to replace Ryan Ogam, who has left the club after sealing a transfer move to Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC.

The 20-year-old was impressive for Kenya national team Harambee Stars during the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) tournament after he scored two goals in the group stages against Morocco and Zambia.

He leaves Tusker after finishing the season as the club’s top scorer with 15 goals, two less than Golden Boot winner Moses Shumah of Kakamega Homeboyz, but who has since signed a two-permanent deal with Zambian Super League champions Power Dynamos.

Kapaito returned to the Brewers after a difficult season in Tanzania, and has already shown a glimpse of his old safe with five goals during pre-season training matches. During the team’s camp in Kisumu, the striker has netted two goals in two matches, all in spectacular fashion.

‘My ambition is match previous goals’

“They have really motivated me to be honest. I needed to work so much during pre-season to give myself momentum and those five goals have just pushed me further. My ambition is to match the number of goals I scored when I was last year and the second point is to improve them,” said Kapaito as quoted by Telecomasia.net.

“I know my abilities and I know I can do it. As a team, we are ready for the new season and the targets have been set clear from the word go; to win the league. I want to do my best to score and give my contribution to this target.”

During his first season with Tusker, Kapaito scored 12 goals. He will now be the man to watch in the absence of Ogam when Tusker kick off their Premier League campaign against KCB at Nyayo Stadium on Friday.
