Zamalek coach: “Juan Bezerra sometimes reacts emotionally”

Belgian coach Yannick Ferreira, manager of Zamalek, expressed his happiness after his team’s 2-0 victory over Ismaily in Thursday’s Nile Egyptian League clash at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium. The result lifted the Whites to the top of the table with 16 points after seven rounds.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Ferreira said:

“I am very happy with the result. We created many chances and controlled the match completely. However, we need to show more spirit to kill the game earlier.”

Zamalek coach added:

“The players will undergo recovery training in preparation for the next match. We always work on correcting our mistakes.”

On the team captain Omar Gaber and promising winger Juan Bezerra, Ferreira explained:

“Omar Gaber will most likely be ready for the next game. As for Bezerra receiving too many yellow cards, the player is often fouled and wins free kicks, but sometimes he reacts emotionally. We have spoken to him because many of those cards could have been avoided.”

Looking ahead, the Zamalek coach continued:

“We are currently focused on the next match against El Gouna. After that, we will look to the following fixture. I have spoken about the need to improve our finishing and to kill games off, but this is the nature of football—sometimes you get many chances and only take a few. We are constantly working to improve ourselves.”

Ferreira also praised veteran playmaker Abdallah El Said:

“I am happy to speak about Abdallah El Said in particular, because he is a wonderful person in terms of leadership and commitment. At 40 years old, he continues to do his job in the best possible way. We are happy to have him in the team; he has helped us a lot in recent times, and we hope he continues to do so.”

The Zamalek coach concluded:

“We will miss some players in the upcoming match against El Gouna, but we have the alternatives to cover for the absences.”
