Kaizer Chiefs captain Inacio Miguel has warned his teammates to prepare for a physically demanding match against Kabuscorp S.C.P. when the two sides meet in the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday.
The Angolan-born defender, who played for Petro Luanda for two seasons in Angola, knows their opponents well. Miguel explained that Kabuscorp’s style is similar to some PSL teams, characterised by long balls, dangerous play with second balls, and powerful individual players.
“Kabuscorp are a very physical team, they play vertically,” Miguel said, noting that he’s already briefed his teammates and coaches on what to expect.
For Miguel, the match at the Estádio 11 de Novembro is a homecoming. He said it’s an “emotional game” for him as the stadium was his home ground during his time with Petro. He is determined to win the game for his “new home,” South Africa.
We are within Makhosi Family, Miguel welcomes us to beautiful Luanda as we embark on our African journey.

Miguel emphasised that getting a clean sheet is crucial for the two-legged tie, adding that the team has proven its ability to keep opponents from scoring.
The Amakhosi skipper also addressed the team’s recent 3-1 league loss to Sekhukhune United, stating that it was just a bad day and not a sign of a bad season. “We have extra motivation to bring back happiness to our supporters by winning in Angola,” he said.
Chiefs have a strong record against Angolan teams, remaining undefeated in their previous six encounters. This will be their seventh game against Angolan opposition in African Club competitions and their third at the Estádio 11 de Novembro.
The Soweto giants have good memories of the venue. In 2021, they defeated Primeiro de Agosto 1-0 at the stadium and drew 0-0 against Petro Atletico in the same season. The club has kept a clean sheet in its last five continental games against Angolan clubs, conceding only once in their very first encounter back in 2001.
Chiefs will also be looking to take their all-time goal tally in CAF Competitions to the century mark, needing just three more goals to reach 100. This match marks their fourth appearance in the CAF Confederation Cup.
