Head coach of Holy Stars, Augustine Evans Adotey has stressed the need to psyche up his players ahead of their second fixture of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League on Sunday, September 21.
The Basake based club opened their season with a goalless draw at home to Eleven Wonders but they will chase a better outcome at Bechem United, a game that looks almost impossible to win judging from Bechem’s 2-1 opening day loss at league champions GoldStars.
Notwithstanding the mountainous task ahead of their away trip, coach Evans Adotey is looking to put his charges in shape for a better result.
“After ending last weekend’s game goalless, the spirit of my boys came down and I need to psyche them, I need to motivate them, I need to make sure they are ready for the upcoming task,” Evans Adotey told Holy Stars media.
“So far I will say so good, morale in camp is high [and] I’m only hoping that we will continue until the departure from Nzema to Bechem.
“Anything can happen on Sunday against Bechem United despite drawing at their venue last season [and] all that I am saying is that I’m preparing my team so that we can go there and come back with a good result.”
Evans Adotey signed a three-year deal to replace Abdulai Gazale who left to take up the assistant coach’s role at Hearts of Oak. He previously served as head coach and Technical Director at two time Ghana FA Cup winners, Medeama SC.
He has also worked as an assistant coach with the Black Queens, Ghana’s senior women’s national team in the past and his experience is expected to propel Holy Stars to high heights in the ongoing campaign.
