The 2025/26 Carling Knockout Cup Round of 16 draw has set the stage for some thrilling clashes, pitting the country’s top teams against each other. The draw, held at FNB Stadium and broadcast live on Monday, revealed the matchups for the tournament’s first round.
As per the competition’s rules, the top eight finishers from last season’s Betway Premiership were seeded, ensuring they would face one of the unseeded teams. The draw involved three pots to determine the pairings and home/away designations.

AmaZulu FC vs. Magesi FC
Mamelodi Sundowns vs. Marumo Gallants
Stellenbosch FC vs. Kaizer Chiefs
Orbit College FC vs. TS Galaxy
Durban City FC vs. Polokwane City FC
Richards Bay FC vs. Chippa United
Orlando Pirates vs. Siwelele FC
Golden Arrows vs. Sekhukhune United
All 16 teams will be vying for the top prize, with Magesi FC entering the competition as the defending champions. They won the title last season by defeating Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in the final.
The winner of the Carling Knockout will take home R6.85 million, with the runner-up receiving R2.85 million. Teams that make it to the semi-finals will earn R1.35 million, while quarter-finalists will get R850,000. Teams eliminated in the Round of 16 will receive R550,000.
