South African star Ethan Brooks completes move to Greek club

South African international Ethan Brooks has completed a move to Greek club Panserraikos FC on a free transfer. The 23-year-old midfielder was officially unveiled by the Super League 1 team on Monday night, signing a two-year contract.

Brooks had been a free agent since July 2025 after parting ways with Betway Premiership side AmaZulu FC. He now embarks on his first international stint, hoping to reignite his career in Europe.

Last season, Brooks was a key player for AmaZulu FC, making 25 appearances across all competitions, scoring one goal and providing an assist. A Bafana Bafana international, he has earned over 10 caps for the national team since his debut in 2021.

In an official statement, Panserraikos expressed their excitement about the new signing.

“Panserraikos FC announces the start of its partnership with international footballer Ethan Brooks, who signed a two-year contract with our team and will wear the jersey with the lion on his chest,” the club said. “The South African footballer… is the first time he will play outside his country.”

The club highlighted his professional history, noting his 83 appearances for AmaZulu and 39 for his previous club, TS Galaxy. They also confirmed his 11 caps for the South African national team.

Brooks’s move comes as he looks to reclaim his spot in the Bafana Bafana squad, having been sidelined by coach Hugo Broos in recent times. The move to Greece could be the perfect opportunity for him to prove his worth on the international stage once again.
