Ismael Bennacer comments after his debut with Dinamo Zagreb

Algerian international Ismael Bennacer has expressed his passion at returning to competitive action, this time in the colors of Dinamo Zagreb.

The midfielder shared a series of photos on his official Facebook page, captioned: “New colors, same passion,” reflecting his readiness to make an impact in the Croatian topflight.

Bennacer made his debut on Saturday in Dinamo’s clash with Hajduk Split in the seventh round of the Croatian league. He entered the match in the 66th minute with his side already in front, marking the beginning of a fresh chapter in his career.

Dinamo Zagreb went on to defeat Hajduk Split 2-0, a result that strengthened their position at the top of the table with 16 points from seven matches—three points clear of their rivals from Split.

The 27-year-old is joining Dinamo on a season-long loan from AC Milan, with an option to buy at the end of the campaign.

Since arriving at Milan from Empoli in 2019, Bennacer has established himself as a key figure, amassing 178 appearances, eight goals, and 12 assists. He was part of Milan’s Serie A triumph and also celebrated success in the Italian Super Cup.

On the international stage, Bennacer impressed with Algeria. His standout moment came in 2019, when he guided the Fennecs to the Africa Cup of Nations title and was crowned Player of the Tournament.
