Midfielder Sam Kintu ‘Tiyo’ has completed a move to newly promoted Entebbe UPPC FC, joining from Kenya’s Shabana FC.

Kintu returns to the Uganda Premier League after a year-long stint in the Kenyan Premier League.

Before his spell in Kenya, he last featured for UPDF FC during the 2023/24 season, leaving the army side as a free agent.

The experienced midfielder has also turned out for Kira Young, Proline FC, Express FC, and even had a brief spell at Entebbe UPPC back in 2022 when the club was still known as Gaddafi FC.

Renowned for his combative style and work rate in the middle of the park, Kintu is expected to play a key role in stabilizing UPPC’s midfield as they prepare for life in the top flight.

He joins a growing list of new recruits at the club that includes Julius Poloto, Denis Otim, Isa Mubiru, John Alou Kokas, Issa Bugembe, Nordin Bunjo, Hassan Ssenyonjo, and Musitafa Mujuzi. Others on the roster of fresh faces are Fazil Tumwine, Rogers Omedwa, Jonathan Gift Odongo, Muhammad Kyeyune, Ambrose Kigozi, Emmanuel Iisat, and Steven Munguchi.
