Pyramids striker Fiston Mayele expressed his delight after guiding his side to glory in the Africa–Asia–Pacific Intercontinental Cup with a stunning hat-trick against Saudi giants Al Ahli Jeddah.
The Congolese forward was the star of the night at the Al Inma Stadium in Jeddah, where his three goals powered Pyramids to a memorable 3-1 victory in front of a packed crowd. The only response from Al Ahli came through English striker Ivan Toney.
Speaking to Al Kass TV after the match, Fiston Mayele said:
“Scoring a hat-trick against Al Ahli Jeddah? I’m extremely happy. What happened tonight is not easy at all, especially in front of such a huge crowd. I want to thank everyone for their support and encouragement that helped us win this trophy.”
