Ivorian champions Stade d’Abidjan are through to the final stage of qualifying for the CAF Champions League after confirming an aggregate victory over Seychellois club Côte d’Or on Wednesday.
Wednesday’s second leg in Abidjan went as expected with a 3-1 victory for the hosts to finish off a 5-1 aggregate victory. Gabon international Samaké Nzé scored twice and Djakaridja Sangaré added one more goal to give Les Yéyés a decisive 3-0 lead by halftime.
Now a difficult test approaches in the final round of qualifying, where Les Stadistes are likely to face Angolan champions Petro de Luanda for a place in the group stage. Petro defeated Mauritian minnows Cercle de Joachim 3-0 in the first leg of their clash over the weekend and are heavy favorites to finish the job at home on Saturday in Luanda.
