Musa Barrow the hero again with late strike for Al Taawoun

Gambia national team and Al Taawoun superstar Musa Barrow is perhaps the most in-form player in the Saudi Pro League at the moment.

After a humiliating 0-5 defeat to Al Nassr to begin the 2025-26 Saudi Pro League season, Barrow and Al Taawoun have now rattled off four consecutive victories in all competitions following Thursday’s 1-0 victory at Al Khaleej. Barrow arrived to fire in an 87th minute match winner to give the former Cagliari star goal contributions in all four of Taawoun’s wins during this stretch.

In Taawoun’s last four matches, Barrow has now produced five goals and three assists. Thursday’s winning goal comes after Barrow contributed two goals and an assist in Taawoun’s 4-0 cup victory over Al-Faisaly in the King’s Cup.

Taawoun move up to third place on the Saudi Pro League table for now, leaving them level with Nassr and Al Ittihad with one more match played. Barrow will next prepare for action with the Gambia national team with the Saudi top flight set to take a month-long break for the October FIFA window. He scored for The Gambia earlier in September during a 3-1 victory over Kenya in 2026 World Cup qualifying.
