The headline clash comes in Hoima City, where thirteen-time champions KCCA visit Kitara at Royals Park Butema in what promises to be a blockbuster season opener. It will be a special outing for KCCA co-coach Brian Ssenyondo, who returns to face his former side now managed by Wasswa Bbosa.

The two sides have met six times in the league, each claiming three wins. Their rivalry has stretched beyond the league into the FUFA Super 8, where they have faced off three times—both winning once and drawing once. In their latest duel, KCCA triumphed 2-0 in the FUFA Super 8 at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo, but Kitara had the last laugh in league action with a 4-0 demolition at Butema that ended Abdallah Mubiru’s tenure at Lugogo.
Elsewhere, top flight football returns to Entebbe for the first time in over seven years. Newly promoted UPPC Entebbe will take on fellow debutants Buhimba Saints United at Bugonga Fisheries Ground, both sides eager to mark their return with victory.

In Njeru, it’s another intriguing storyline as Alex Isabirye makes his competitive return to BUL—this time in the opposite dugout with URA FC. With both teams chasing a strong start, this tie promises fireworks at the FUFA Technical Centre.
The day also marks history in Kamwokya, where Police FC host Mbarara City at their brand-new Police Arena Grounds, the first-ever topflight fixture at the venue. It’s a reunion for Mbarara City’s new head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa, who takes on his former employers.
Other fixtures include Lugazi FC hosting league newcomers Calvary FC in Najjembe, while the late kickoff at Nakivubo pits seven-time league winners Express FC against UPDF FC under the floodlights.
