Amad Diallo to miss Brentford clash following family bereavement

Manchester United confirmed on Friday that Ivorian winger Amad Diallo will be unavailable for Saturday’s Premier League fixture against Brentford following the passing of a family member.

United manager Ruben Amorim expressed his full support for the Ivorian international during his pre-match press conference.
“Our hearts are with Amad in this difficult moment,” Amorim said. “The next game and football are not the priority right now.”

Diallo, who was born in Abidjan and joined United from Atalanta in 2021, has become an important figure under Amorim. After a breakthrough campaign last season, the 23-year-old has carried his progress into the current one, featuring in all six of United’s matches so far.

While he has yet to score this term, Amad Diallo registered a crucial assist earlier in the season, winning the penalty converted by Bruno Fernandes that secured United a victory against Burnley.
