Silver Strikers coach Etson Kadenge Mwafulirwa has reflected on how his team intends to approach Yanga SC in the CAF Champions League next round.
The Malawian spoke about the forthcoming game against the champions from Tanzania on Saturday. Silver sealed qualification to the Champions League’s next stage after sailing past Elgeco PLUS from Madagascar.

“Yanga are a big team but we also faced a big team. We will plan accordingly for the next game but we will be ready,” the coach said.
The Malawi champions held their Malagasy counterparts to a barren draw to sneak through to the Champions League next round.
Summarising the game in a post-match interview in Lilongwe on Saturday, Mwafulirwa said the second leg performance of the islanders showed that they are a big team.
“We enjoyed the game in the first and second halves. It is only that in some areas we were slow in transition when defending and attacking. They are a big team. They have a number of players who play in that CHAN team [for Madagascar]. We will play with another side so we will see where to polish,” Mwafulirwa said.
The TNM Super League holders advanced to the next round courtesy of an away goal they scored last week in the preliminary round, first leg game which ended 1-1 in Mauritius. Following the result at Bingu National Stadium, Silver will now date Tanzania’s Young Africans in the next stage.
