Ghana’s U-20 national team booked a spot in the third round of the FIFA U-20 qualifiers after beating Tunisia 2-0 in the second leg to complete a 4-0 aggregate.
The Black Princesses had recorded a 2-0 win in the first leg in Tunis before rounding off the reverse in a fantastic fashion at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, September 27.
Mercy Attobrah opened the scoring in the 37th minute after Ghana had missed several early opportunities to take the lead.
Substitute Agnes Yeboah made an immediate impact after joining the fray, scoring with her first touch in the 46th minute to give Ghana a comfortable cushion.
Despite creating numerous chances afterwards, Ghana were denied further goals by a determined Tunisian defence. However, the 2-0 win on the day, added to their first-leg victory, sealed a commanding 4-0 aggregate triumph for the Princesses.
The result sets up a third-round showdown against South Africa in February as Ghana continue their quest for a place at the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.
