Heart of Lions have an early challenge in the Ghana Premier League when they travel to Kumasi as guests of record title holders, Asante Kotoko in week four of this season’s campaign.
Lions have a one hundred percent record – winning their three opening matches this term with victories against Bechem United, Eleven Wonders and Dreams fc.
The Kpando based club take on Kotoko at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, October 4 and Heart of Lions striker, Kwadwo Obeng Junior is brimming with confidence ahead of the clash.
“We are going to play our fourth league match against Asante Kotoko and thankfully we have started on a good note so we are going all out against Kotoko in Kumasi and we have to collect points from there,” Obeng Junior told Mo TV.
“It’s not a difficult game, we take the game one after the other and we have cleared three hurdles and Kotoko is the fourth so we have to add Kotoko the casualties.
“They have the same team as last season so it’s a difficult task and we also have a strong team because we finished second last season so it doesn’t matter the quality Kotokon has.”
Kotoko come into the Heart of Lions encounter with a confident boosting win from the CAF Confederation Cup where they eliminated Nigeria’s Kwara United in the preliminary round over two legs.
The Porcupine Warriors defeated Kwara United by 4-3 in Accra with the return leg at the MKO Moshood Abiola Stadium ending by 1-0 in favour of Kotoko, completing a 5-3 aggregate score line.
Kotoko have two outstanding fixtures against Gold Stars and Holy Stars and will battle sworn rivals, Hearts of Oak in between the two delayed clashes .
