The second matchday of the Benin Pro League was played this weekend across the country. Pending official confirmation of results, Dragons FC of Ouémé sit alone at the top of the table with two wins in as many games, while AS SOBEMAP stood out with the biggest victory so far this season.
In Porto-Novo, Dragons FC confirmed their strong start by defeating Dynamo d’Abomey (1–0). AS SOBEMAP impressed at home with a commanding 5–1 win over Espoir FC, recording the best attacking performance of the weekend.
In Parakou, Buffles du Borgou bounced back with a 3–0 victory over Association Vallée Omnisports (ASVO). Loto-Popo, held to a draw by Damissa (0–0) on the opening day, claimed their first win away at Hodio FC in Comè (1–0), while Damissa FC edged past Bani Gansè (1–0). USS-Kraké also collected their first three points, defeating the defending champions Dadjè FC (1–0).
The reigning champions, Dadjè FC, and last season’s runners-up, Coton FC, were both playing their first league matches following their recent continental campaigns. Coton FC made a winning start at home with a 2–1 victory over Cavaliers de Nikki, while Dadjè FC faltered in their return to domestic competition in Kraké.
In other results, AS Cotonou and JS Pobè played out a goalless draw (0–0), as did ASPAC and Ayéma (0–0).
In the provisional standings, Dragons FC (6 pts) lead the way ahead of AS SOBEMAP, Buffles, Damissa, and JS Pobè (4 pts each). Coton FC (3 pts, one game in hand) are close behind, while Dadjè FC, Espoir FC, and Bani Gansè sit at the bottom.
