World Cup [Q]: “Ghana players have strong hearts to deal with pressure” – Gyan

Ghana legend, Asamoah Gyan has indicated that, there is some form of pressure ahead of the final two 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Central African Republic and Comoros.

The four time African champions are in Morocco for the penultimate clash against Central African Republic at the Stade d’Honneur de Mekness and they will return to host Comoros in the last qualifier at the Accra Sports Stadium four days later.

Gyan, who has visited the team’s camp in Casablanca to share some encouraging moments with the players revealed that, games of this nature come with mounting pressure.

Ghanaians expect a win against Central African Republic

“Talking about pressure, sometimes we have good pressure [and] it makes you stand on your toes especially in games like these,” Asamoah Gyan told 3Sports.

“Anybody who says there is no pressure before a game, it’s a lie. There is pressure but as soon as the whistle blows, you can just go and do whatever you want so going under this game I feel there is a bit of pressure because it looks like the finishing touches.

“That is what people are expecting back home and that is what they know, they know that task is ahead of them and so I am sure they’ve been there before and I know they’ve been speaking to themselves and preparing for this game.

“As for the pressure it will always be there but I am sure some of them play in the top leagues and they know how to handle that pressure.”

The Black Stars lead Group I with 19 points from eight matches, three better than Madagascar with Comoros on 15 points and Mali on 12. Central African Republic sit on five points with Chad on one point.
