Ghana Premier League: Medeama go top with Dreams fc win

Medeama SC deepened the woes of Dreams fc after inflicting a 2-1 defeat on the “Still Believe Boys” on Friday.

The Mauve and Yellow, who began their season with two straight wins, shot themselves ahead through Abdul Salam in just 19 minutes at the Tarkwa TnA Park in week five of the Ghana Premier League.

Dreams fc however recovered late in the first half to pull level through Christian Owusu who notched home from a set piece, taking the game into the first half break.

Medeama relied on late own goal to win

The two time FA Cup champions continued to look the better side throughout the second department of the game, creating the best scoring chances.

Notwithstanding Medeama’s total control of the game, they had to rely on a late own goal to secure all three home points, taking them to the summit of the table with 12 points from five games.

The result leaves Dreams FC winless in five games (L4, D1), increasing pressure on coach Winfred Dormon. Medeama, meanwhile, continue their fine home form and will face Samartex next in a Western Derby, while Dreams host Nations FC in search of their first victory of the campaign.
