World Cup [Q]: “Ghana is favorite against Comoros” – Stefano Cusin

Head coach of Comoros, Stefano Cusin has opened up on the final 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Ghana on Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Island nation have had some authority over the four time African champions in recent years beating them 1-0 in the opening phase of the qualifiers.

The Canadian tactician did not stick his neck out to predict a score line but promised a fine finish against Ghana.

Every match has a different story

“Every match has a different story, I was the coach in the first game [and] we played well, it was the second game of the group and we played at home and maybe Ghana was not in the best form,” Stefano Cusin told media men.

“Even Kudus [Mohammed] played in the second half so for me we played very well.

“I don’t think Comoros has a plan that can be a problem to Ghana but I think every game has a different story so we will see. Ghana has good players, you are playing at home and everything is good for you.”

Comoros are out of the race for the 2026 FIFA World Cup slot as they sit in fourth on 15 points, same as Mali after nine qualifying games. Ghana lead group I with 22 points and any form of draw will seal a fifth World Cup appearance next year in Canada, USA and Mexico.
