The Competitions Committee of the Libyan Football Federation has announced a new date for the semi-final matches of the Libyan Cup, featuring four of the country’s top clubs: Al Ahli Tripoli, Al Ittihad, Al Ahly Benghazi, and Al Akhdar.
The semi-finals are now set to take place on November 10, with two big clashes on the schedule. Al Ahli Tripoli will face Al Ittihad at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium, while Al Ahli Benghazi take on Al Akhdar at the Tripoli International Stadium.
Originally, the semi-finals were scheduled for October 30, as announced by the head of the Competitions Committee during a press conference last Thursday. However, the date has been changed to avoid a scheduling conflict with Al Ahli Tripoli’s CAF Confederation Cup fixture against Morocco’s RS Berkane on October 26 in Tripoli, followed by the return leg in Morocco.
The rescheduling ensures that Al Ahli Tripoli will have more time to prepare for both their continental commitment.
