Hearts of Oak supporters were left wondering following the club’s goalless draw at home to Heart of Lions in week five of the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Monday.
The Phobians were looking for a win after being held to a goalless draw at Bechem United last weekend but they failed to find the back of the net against Heart of Lions, a side they defeated twice in pre-season.
They have now drawn three times with two wins, clocking nine points in five games and sitting fifth on the same points as Samartex and Aduana Stars.
Didi Dramani, who replaced Ivorian Aboubakar Ouattara, spoke to the media after the goalless draw against Heart of Lions.
“I think that we have spoken about how we try as much as possible to control the game and then to try to also control the opponent more especially when we are not in possession and the opponent can also be very dangerous because they can be strong in terms of their transitional play,” Didi Dramani told the media after the game.
“Every coach will be worried in this instance but I think that the most important aspect of the game is what we are doing, that we have an identity, that we try as much as possible to create the spaces and then try as much as possible to control the opponent when they have the right moment.
“I think that it is the next phase that we need to intensify. We’ve been doing a lot in this regard and I don’t think that I should fight it but I think that it is still work in progress.”
The record Ghana FA Cup winners will now shift attention to their next fixture where they will travel to the Golden City Park against former champions, Berekum Chelsea on Sunday, October 19.
