Alex Iwobi set to become Nigeria’s most capped Premier League player

Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi, is set to make history as Nigeria’s most capped player in the English Premier League when his side welcome his former club Arsenal to the Craven Cottage on Saturday.

Iwobi has already made 298 appearances in the English top-flight till date. Should he feature in the London derby, Iwobi will officially become the Nigerian player with the most appearances in the history of the English top-flight.

The 27-year-old currently shares the appearance record with Newcastle United legend Shola Ameobi.

Iwobi racked up the 298 appearances for three different clubs, Arsenal, Everton, and Fulham.

He made his Premier League debut for Arsenal against Swansea City on October 27, 2015.
