The opening day of Round 5 of the Saudi Pro League showcased the brilliance of African players, as Fashion Sakala and Myziane Maolida stole the spotlight with decisive performances that shaped their teams’ results on Friday.
Al-Kholood delivered a dominant 5–1 victory over newly promoted Al-Najma, with Comorian winger Myziane Maolida producing a very good display.
Maolida was instrumental in two of his team’s goals — first, winning a 22nd-minute penalty that Ramiro Enrique converted, before scoring Al-Kholood’s third goal in the 46th minute with a strike from inside the area.

In another fixture, Al-Ittihad were held to a 1–1 draw by Al-Fayha, thanks to another impressive display from Zambian international Fashion Sakala.
Sakala put Al-Fayha ahead with a powerful left-footed strike from inside the box after beating an Al-Ittihad defender with skill. The forward’s goal once again underlined his growing influence in the Saudi topflight.
