Police FC make a short trip from Kiira Road to the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo, where last season’s runners-up NEC FC lie in wait for a highly anticipated StarTimes Uganda Premier League clash.

The encounter will serve as an early-season test for the newly promoted Cops, who have had a promising start under head coach Matia Lule — winning once and drawing once in their opening two fixtures.

It will also mark Police’s first outing away from their new home ground, the Police Arena in Kiira, where they drew 1-1 with Mbarara City before edging Express FC 2-1 in their most recent match.

NEC, on the other hand, will be eager to bounce back after surrendering a lead in their 1-1 draw with URA FC at the same venue last week. Hussein Mbalangu’s men will be targeting their first victory of the campaign to get their title push back on track.

The hosts boast a respectable record against Police, with one win and two draws in their last three meetings across all competitions. However, both league fixtures last season ended in stalemates, including a 1-1 draw in the corresponding fixture at Lugogo.

The contest will wrap up matchday three of the first round, promising another entertaining night of football under the Lugogo floodlights.
