Alex Iwobi reacts to 300th Premier League appearance

Nigerian and Fulham midfielder, Alex Iwobi has reacted on his history making feat as the first Nigerian to reach 300 English Premier League appearances.

Iwobi reached the milestone in Fulham’s 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United at St James Park on Saturday.

Iwobi while speaking after the match via the club’s website said it was a big honour for him to achieve the milestone.

“It’s amazing. It’s a big achievement to lead that, with the likes of Shola Ameobi and even my uncle [Jay-Jay Okocha] that’s participated in the Premier League.

It’s an honour, but I’m not done yet, I’m going to keep on going and hopefully keep the record going.”

The 29-year-old is now the fifth African with the highest number of appearances in the English topflight League.

Only Kolo Touré (353), Mohamed Salah (309), Wilfried Zaha (309), and Jordan Ayew (305) have played more games than him.
