CAF Champions League: Simba SC advance following scoreless second leg

Dar es Salaam giants Simba SC had no issues confirming their place in the CAF Champions League group stage on Sunday, completing a 3-0 aggregate victory over Nsingizini Hotspurs of Eswatini with a sleepy 0-0 second leg result at home.

After earning a 3-0 victory in Eswatini, Dimitar Pantev’s side showed less urgency and were content to maintain their advantage and control possession.

The visitors failed to cause any concern about a potential comeback even if Simba supporters were disappointed with their team’s failure to provide much entertainment in the form of the goals against the heavy underdogs. After a match with few opportunities for either team, the full time whistle arrived at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium to confirm a group stage place for the Reds of Msimbazi.

The Tanzania Mainland Premier League runners-up will learn their group stage opponents on November 3 when the draw takes place in Johannesburg.
