Simy continues to light up Saudi second tier with hat-trick

Former Nigeria national team striker Simy Nwankwo continued his explosive start to life in Saudi Arabia with a hat-trick in Al Orobah’s 3-3 draw against Al Diriyah in the country’s second tier on Tuesday.

The former Crotone and Gil Vicente star has been simply unstoppable since making the move to the Gulf region. The 33-year-old now has 10 goals in 6 matches since joining Al Orobah, making him the top scorer in the Saudi First Division League (FDL).

Simy’s acquisition on a free transfer came with Al Orobah’s intentions to return to the top flight Saudi Pro League after being relegated last season. After losing their season opener, Orobah rattled off four consecutive league victories before Tuesday’s draw. They currently sit third on the league table with the top two finishers earning direct promotion to the Saudi Pro League.
