Ghana booked a spot at next year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in grand style following a 4-0 victory over Egypt in the second leg of the qualifiers on Tuesday.
The Black Queens had posted a 3-0 win in Ismailia in the first leg and the 4-0 result in the reverse fixture completed a 7-0 aggregate score line over the two legs.
Doris Boaduwaa was on song in the 4-0 walloping of Egypt, scoring a hat-trick with Comfort Yeboah adding a stunning goal to complete the emphatic win at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In a post-match interview, Boaduwaa expressed her joy after her outstanding performance. “I’m happy to have scored a hat-trick. What I couldn’t do at the WAFCON, hopefully, I’ve settled it in these two games. WAFCON again, so watch out,” she said.
The Black Queens claimed bronze at the last Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and they will return to the same nation for the tournament that is set between March 17 and April with 12 countries battling for honours.
