Crystal Palace and Ismaila Sarr once again proved to be an irritant to Liverpool as the Eagles cruised to a dominant 3-0 Carabao Cup victory at Anfield over a highly rotated Reds squad on Wednesday.

After playing a starring role in Palace’s Community Shield triumph over Liverpool to begin the 2025-26 campaign, Senegal national team winger Sarr saved his best for the Reds once again by scoring in his third consecutive match against the reigning Premier League champions.
Sarr struck twice, opening the scoring in the 41st minute when he fired in from a loose ball in the Liverpool penalty area.
A disastrous end to the first half for the hosts was confirmed and it was Sarr who was the architect of their downfall. A splendid team movement sliced open the Liverpool defense with Yeremy Pino setting up Sarr for the finish past Freddie Woodman in the Reds goal.
Pino confirmed the decisive victory for the visitors ten minutes after Amara Nallo was sent off for Liverpool, who were never in the match. Sarr now has 6 goals and 1 assist through 13 matches in all competitions for the London club, who next host Brentford in Premier League action on Saturday.
