Moses Simon goal secures Paris FC victory over Monaco

Moses Simon’s second half goal secured three points for Paris FC in a 1–0 victory at AS Monaco in a French Ligue 1 encounter at the Stade Louis II on Saturday.

Monaco had hoped to close the gap on league leaders Paris Saint-Germain, who edged Nice 1–0 earlier in the day.

However, Nigeria international Simon broke the deadlock in favor of the newly-promoted side in the 53rd minute, latching onto a low cross from Maxime López inside the box before firing past goalkeeper Phillipp Köhn from close range.

Despite Monaco’s late push for an equaliser, the visitors’ defence held firm, with goalkeeper Kevin Trapp making a series of crucial saves to secure all three points for the visitors.

Simon was substituted in the 90th minute for forward Nouha Dicko, who saw out the remaining eight minutes of stoppage time. Paris FC earned their fourth win of the season, moving up to 10th place on the log.

The goal takes Simon’s tally for the season to 3 goals and 2 assists in 11 appearances.
