Rulani Mokwena: MC Alger have all it takes to shine in the CAF Champions League

MC Alger head coach Rulani Mokwena has praised his team’s ability to deliver strong performances in the 2025-2026 CAF Champions League, following group stage draw held in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The draw placed the Algerian team in Group C, alongside Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa), Al Hilal (Sudan), and St Eloi Lupopo (DR Congo) — a challenging but exciting group for Le Doyen.

Speaking after his team’s domestic victory over JS Saoura, according to Ennaharonline, Mokwena shared his thoughts on MC Alger’s prospects in Africa’s premier club competition:

“We will enter the Champions League with great humility,” he said.

Despite the difficult group, Mokwena believes the club has the right foundations to compete at the highest level:

“We have everything required to perform strongly — a passionate fan base, an excellent technical staff, and outstanding conditions within the club.”

The South African tactician, who guided his former side Sundowns to continental success achieving the African Football League, emphasized the hard work attitude and the experience of his current squad:

“We are a hardworking group with valuable experience from the previous edition. All these factors give us the belief to dream. We’ll work hard to represent both the club and Algerian football in the best possible way.”

Rulani Mokwena concluded by saying:

“We’ll take it step by step and continue improving. There’s still time before the Champions League begins, and we’ll be ready when it does.”
