Botola Pro: Raja find late goal in victory

Raja Casablanca moved level with leaders Maghreb Fez at the top of the Botola Pro table following a 1-0 home victory over Kawkab Marrakech on Tuesday at the Stade Mohammed V.

After dominating the visitors, it appeared that Fadlu Davids’ side would be forced to settle for a point. However, in second half stoppage time, substitute Ayoub Maamouri converted from the penalty spot to give the Green Eagles three points.

In the end, it was a bit of good fortune that fell the way of RCA when a hopeful cross came off the hand of KACM defender Nadir Lougmani, a moment that in a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) review and eventually a penalty kick. Maamouri put his spot kick just beyond the reach of goalkeeper Naoufal Ait Oubna to secure the victory.

Raja are now level on 15 points with leaders Maghreb Fez. Their position at the top of the table is tentative with AS FAR, RS Berkane and rivals Wydad all capable of moving ahead when they make up their games in hand.
