Lamontville Golden Arrows FC coach Manqoba Mngqithi has made a strong appeal to South Africa football team coach Hugo Broos over squad selection.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach spoke to Arrows Television host Yolanda who asked him about his impression of the club’s players’ quality and whether they deserve the national team’s recognition.

Mngqithi did not hesitate to advise the Belgian to cast his net wider and consider trying out some Arrows players.
The coach cited striker Siyanda Ndlovu, midfielder Nqobeko Dlamini and left-back Osborn Maluleke as among the Arrows players deserving Bafana Bafana call-up.
Mngqithi said he was happy that some of his youthful players have earned youth national team selection.
“It is something that I have been drilling in the minds of the players. Fortunately, we are in a good space. Hopefully that will start permeating through the other players in understanding that they have a responsibility to get into the national team,” the coach said.
The former Chippa United trainer then singled out his stand-out players he thinks are ready for the national team.
“There are players that are making a serious outcry to ask Hugo to pay attention to them. Over my head, I think Ndhlovu has been very good. He is probably having his best season both in creating, scoring and working very hard. He has been very important in the resurgence of our team,” Mngqithi explained.
“Dlamini is a left-footed midfielder who covers an average of 12km per match. Technically, he has a 90 percent pass completion per match. You start thinking that maybe he deserves an opportunity. Physically, he works very hard. He is the type of a player that a national team would need more especially if he is left-footed. I think it is something that Hugo would be looking at very closely.”
Broos is expected to announce a squad ahead of a friendly against Zambia on November 6, as he steps up preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations finals scheduled for Morocco in December.
Meanwhile, Arrows will host Orlando Pirates at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium in Durban on Wednesday with kickoff set for 19:30 (SA time).
