Prolific FC Midtjylland striker Franculino Djú has now scored in seven consecutive matches after adding another goal in FCM’s 3-1 victory over Celtic FC in the UEFA Europa League.
The Danish Superliga’s leading scorer was at it again on Thursday as FCM maintained their hold on top spot in the league phase of the competition. It was a dominant victory for last season’s Superliga runners-up, who ran off to a 3-0 halftime lead with the Guinea-Bissau national team forward finishing the scoring at the end of the first half.
Franculino is now tied atop the scoring charts in the Europa League main phase with three goals, making it four goals from ten matches in continental competition when counting the qualifying stages. His best work has come in the Superliga, however, where he has a remarkable thirteen goals in thirteen league matches.
FCM, currently sitting in second place on the Superliga table, return to league play on Sunday when they travel to clash with Randers FC. After previously taking down Nottingham Forest away from home earlier in the Europa League, FCM will face their biggest challenge yet when they return to continental action at AS Roma on November 27 in the Italian capital.
