2026 World Cup Playoffs: Mouyouma unveils Gabon squad for Nigeria clash

Gabon national team head coach Thierry Mouyouma has revealed his squad that will take on Nigeria in 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs for a place in the World Cup.

The Super Eagles will face Gabon on November 13 in the semi-finals of the African playoff tournament, which serves as a qualifier for the intercontinental playoffs of the 2026 World Cup.

Nigeria finished second in Group C, behind South Africa, while Gabon came in second behind Ivory Coast in Group E. They managed 17 points, one less than Bafana Bafana after winning four matches, drawing five and losing one.

Aubameyang to lead Gabon against Nigeria

In the 26-man squad, former Arsenal striker and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Dennis Bouanga, Mario Lemina, Ecuele Manga Bruno, and Ndong Ibrahim Didier are some of the key players making the squad.

Gabon came second in Group F with 25 points, one fewer than African Ivory Coast. Gabon registered eight wins, one draw and lost only once. The first meeting between the two sides will be played at Prince Héritier Moulay El Hassan Sports Complex, Rabat on Thursday.

Goalkeepers; Mbaba Loyce Marius, Bekale Francois Junior, Mounguenou Mabbyalas Lukas.

Defenders; Antony Oyono, Jérémy Oyono, Obiang Johann, Ekomie Jacques, Appindangoye A., Ecuele Manga Bruno, M’Bemba Yannis, Moucketou Alex, Kila Onfia Mick and Do Marcolino Jonathan.

Midfielders; Lemina Mario, Lemina Noha, Nze Samake, Kanga Guelor, Ndong Ibrahim Didier and Poko B. André.

Forwards; Averlant Andami Teddy, Bouanga Denis, Meyo Ngoua Bryan Enzo, Openda Royce, Do Marcolino Alan, Essang-Matouti Edlin Randy, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
