Egypt and Cape Verde to participate in Al Ain International Cup as tournament details announced

Abu Dhabi Sports Channel has revealed the venue and schedule for the upcoming Al Ain International Cup, a friendly tournament featuring four national teams — Egypt, Uzbekistan, Iran, and Cape Verde — as part of their preparations for major international competitions.

The tournament will take place at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, running from November 13 to 18. It serves as a key warm-up event ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco this December, and the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

According to the organizers, all four participating nations — who have already secured qualification for the 2026 World Cup — will be fielding their first-choice squads to ensure strong competitive matches in the build-up to their continental and global campaigns.

The opening match will see Iran take on Cape Verde on November 13, followed by Egypt facing Uzbekistan on November 14.

The losing sides from those games will meet in a third-place playoff on November 17, while the winners will contest the final on November 18 to determine the tournament champion.

The Al Ain International Cup is expected to offer competitive experience for all participating teams, providing coaches with an opportunity to fine-tune their tactics and assess player readiness ahead of a crucial year in international football.
